MAKO is organized to encourage the highest professional standards for those in Chamber of Commerce Management. MAKO, which represents Chamber of Commerce Executives in the states of Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma, was formed in 2011. The annual conference is developed with the premise to advance personal and professional development and create close unity within the region.
The mission of the MAKO Conference Association is to provide high quality professional development and networking opportunities to all chambers of commerce and their staff in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, and Oklahoma

Focus Areas:
To help chambers focus on impactful programming the MAKO Conference Association will focus on three areas:
Chamber Operations – events, programming, communications finance, and membership
Community Development – economic & workforce development, education, and public policy
Leadership – Strategic planning, board management, and crisis management

Marketing & Promotions
This committee is responsible for developing and implementing marketing initiatives and activities to increase awareness of the conference and attract attendees, sponsors, speakers, etc. This committee will provide compelling and innovative promotional materials and social media information in order to enhance attendance.
Planning & Logistics
This committee is responsible for executing logistic elements associated with the event coordination, that include conference hotel contract and attendee registrations. Strong communication with other committees, as to their needs in relation with this committee’s focus, is prudent to the success of the conference as a whole.
Program
This committee is responsible for developing conference session content and securing speakers for the annual conference, both keynote and breakout sessions. Other responsibilities include planning activities, outside of educational, that connect attendees with each other.
Sponsors & Exhibitors
This committee is responsible for the solicitation and fulfillment of sponsors and exhibitors for the conference. Committee members will develop an agreement outlining benefits of each along with marketing and benefits. They will also work with these businesses/organizations to determine their needs for exhibitor space throughout the conference
